How it works

  1. 01Choose your images. Drag, browse, or paste — one file or a whole batch.
  2. 02Make it yours. Choose a format and adjust the available settings.
  3. 03Save your Smaller file files. Convert on your device, then download when ready.

How to compress WebP without uploading

This compressor shrinks WebP in your browser. Lower the quality slider or set a max width to reduce file size, then download a lighter copy for email, forms, or websites.

Unlike online compressors that upload your photos to a server, ImgConvert re-encodes everything locally. That matters for invoices, ID scans, product shots, and anything you would not share publicly.

Quality vs file size

Compression is a trade-off. Mild reductions often look identical on screens while cutting dozens of kilobytes. Aggressive settings help when a form enforces a hard limit (for example 100 KB or 1 MB).

  • Photos: start around 70–85% quality, then go lower only if needed
  • Graphics with text: prefer WebP/PNG carefully — heavy JPG can blur edges
  • Already tiny icons: resizing down may help more than re-encoding
  • Batch work: convert several files, then download all at once

When compression helps most

Use this tool before uploading to CMS platforms, sending attachments, or optimizing landing pages. Smaller images load faster and use less mobile data.

  • Website performance and Core Web Vitals
  • Email attachments that hit size limits
  • Marketplace or form uploads with maximum file sizes
  • Sharing folders full of phone camera photos

FAQ

Do you upload my photos?
Everything runs in your browser with the Canvas API. Your files are never uploaded to a server.
How does compression work?
We re-encode the image locally. Lower quality means a smaller file.
Can I convert multiple images at once?
Yes. Add several files, convert them, and download individually or all together.
